Mini PC
Duration: 12 months
Process: ID Concept proposal to mass production
Brand: Acer
Work at: Wistron
This Mini PC project spanned from the initial ID concept proposal to Acer, through the business award, and into mass production. Despite being an ODM project, the design was entirely from myself, with no involvement from Acer's design team.
The target was to design a cost-effective yet premium-looking Chromebox by utilizing PCR plastic for the front cover.

The Process
The design went through several rounds of proposals before being accepted by the Acer project management team. Once the design direction was confirmed, we executed further iterations to accommodate engineering requirements and meet strict cost targets.

The final results - Metallic Chrome
Ultimately, Acer has requested that the design adhere to a Metallic Chrome color scheme and transition towards a more business-oriented aesthetic. As a result, I've adjusted the CMF of the Chromebox to a Silver color scheme, complemented by a grey Chromebox logo and Metallic painting on the rear-chasis.

CMF and Cosmetic Quality Control
Following the start of Tooling, I'm responsible for reviewing and tracking all ID/CMF elements for plastic and SGCC steel parts. This includes fine-tuning resin and coating colors, refining textures, controlling glossiness, and managing assembly gap/step precision
